About the Village
Carrum Downs Retirement Village is one of the few villages in Victoria that provides ageing in place by having independent living units and nursing home in the one complex. This is important as, in the future if a resident’s health deteriorates there is experienced nursing staff on the premises to take care of them in their unit or in the nursing home 24 hours a day.
The residents have formed a registered Social Club which enables them to have drinks at happy hour and organized functions in the lavish Community Centre’s fully equipped bar and kitchen. The activity officer and the residents also organize numerous outings and functions. As always at Carrum Downs you can participate as little or as much as you desire.
The village backs onto the Banyan Reserve which has been upgraded by the local shire to include walking tracks, wetlands for bird life, playground and sporting field.
The village is secure with 24hour staff at the nursing home. Three doors away is a new shopping centre with supermarket, bakery, liquor store and video store. One kilometer away is an extensive modern shopping complex serviced by the bus at the front of the village. The bus also goes to nearby Frankston and Seaford as well as Dandenong. Approximately two kilometers away is the new extensive and exclusive Sandhurst golf club.
